Providing current information on the rules, trends and market conditions in Central Ohio Real Estate to by clients is my primary function as a Realtor® My roll changes slightly based on the needs and desires of each client. 

First time Buyers and First time Seller, often require more information on the process and more assistance finding qualified professionals to help them achieve their real estate objectives.  It is my job to provide solid advice so that when they make their decisions they feel confident they were made with all the necessary information available to them. 

Move up Buyers and Sellers often require a different type of support.  Move ups have been through the process and tend to be more interested in current trends and tools that can help them quickly reach their objectives with the least amount of disruption to their lives.   As an agent for my client my primary objective is helping my clients successfully obtain their Real Estate Goals and Objectives.

I volunteer with various local organizations to provide first time home buyer education.  Generally those organizations do not allow any sales information.  The benefit to me is name recognition and the fact I am helping to prepare the new homeowners for home ownership.  It has always baffled me that so little is done to prepare people for one of the largest financial decisions that most of us make in our lifetime. I believe that had more been done to educate home buyers a few years ago perhaps there would be fewer people facing the loss of their homes today. 

I also believe that as a  skilled negotiator I can bring tremendous value to my clients.  Prior to real estate I was a Major Accounts Representative with AT&T.  I negotiated multi-million dollar deals for several fortune 1000 companies.  Those skills have proved to be quite valuable not only in negotiating traditional sales but extremely vital in negotiating with lenders for short sales with multiple lenders and short sale deficiencies .

I have several designations.  I am an ABR(Accredited Buyers Representative) although most of my buyers are move up buyers, I very much enjoy working with first time buyers.  It allows me to help educate and still have fun.  First time buyers have an excitement that is generally contagious. 

I obtained my AHWD (At Home with Diversity) certification because I embrace and appreciate the diversity Central Ohio offers and I thoroughly enjoy working with and learning about people with different cultures and lifestyles. 

4 years ago I made the decision to get my FIS(Foreclosure Intervention Specialist) Certification.  It was one of the best decisions I could have made.  I have had the honor of working to help numerous people avoid foreclosure and sometimes save their home.  For folks unable to keep their homes I work hard to assit them with successful short sales. Although pre-foreclosure work is not easy and often quite frustrating, I have found it quite rewarding when I successfully help people find solutions to difficult problems.

During my last semester of college, amidst all the stresses of finishing up my senior portfolio and distributing resumes, I was also trying to figure out where I was going to live post-graduation. Knowing I wanted to live in the Columbus area I spent several weeks flipping through several real estate websites and search engines from my college apartment. Finally when I found a house that caught my eye and fit my budget I had my mother contact the realtor, which just so happened to be Vanessa.  Vanessa was very quick to set up appointments and showings of homes that I picked out online as well as some that she found that met my needs. After several weekends, even visiting some houses multiple times, Vanessa said she had one last house on the agenda for the day that she thought I might like.  The moment I walked in the front door I fell in love. The location, the layout, not to mention the two closets in the master bedroom were perfect for me. I knew that I had walked in to my future home.

Working with Vanessa has alleviated all the stress of shopping for my first home, and made one of the biggest decisions I've ever made very fun and simple. She was always very flexible with my schedule and accommodating to my travelling needs. Everything from the offers to the counter-offers, and even the questions I had were all taken care of in a very prompt fashion.  From start to finish this experience and working with Vanessa has made this milestone in my life that much more exciting. And even after the papers have been signed and the keys were handed to me, I have stayed in touch with Vanessa and cannot wait until she sees the transformation of my new home at my housewarming party.

...Although most of my friends haven't made the decision to purchase a house just yet, they know that when they do they will have a fabulous referral!
